Fifteen Days Post-Surgery - Discharged

• Have Double Lung Transplant Surgery - check
• Walk the Halls - check
• Watch a series of 4 Life After Transplant videos - check
• Ask your support person to bring things from home like food, clothes, books, etc. (do this daily as your recovery progresses and you need more things) - check, check, check, check, check
• Walk the Halls - check
• Attend Education on Meds - check
• Prepare your meds on your own, have nurse check before taking - check
• Walk the Halls - check
• Bronchoscopy - check
• Grow to like the hospital food, leaving everything your support person cooked and brought in for you in the Nourishment Room fridge - check
• Prepare your meds on your own, have nurse check before taking - check
• Walk the Halls with a Buddy (thanks Andrew) - check
• Remove the last of the chest tubes - check
• Have x-ray to ensure all is good with the chest tubes out - check
• Prepare your meds on your own, have nurse check before taking - check

• Walk up a flight of stairs with Physiotherapist (did two flights again today, no stopping, still breathing easy - wahoo!) - check, check
• Walk the Halls - check
• Pack your personal belongings (or have someone pack them for you, after all, they dragged all that stuff here in the first place) - check
• Walk the Halls (do your best to wear out the flooring) - check
• Pick up giant brown bag full of meds at the Pharmacy (or have your support person do this for you, cause it’s a big bag) - check
• Meet with the on-floor pharmacists to review your meds and schedule - check
• Cleared to go home to the condo - check
• Get Discharged! [even better, get your room mate (bye John) and walking buddy (bye bye Andrew) discharged too] - check, check, check
• Say goodbye to the nurses and floor receptionist on both units, since you know them all well from walking the units 5 times each loop, 5 loops each day - check, check
• Walk out of the unit, down the ramp and catch the elevator to the Atrium - check

Stop for a Starbucks on the way out the door - ABSOLUTELY!
