24Nov Saturday
Today we headed to Oakville for dinner with Lynette & Henry. They were the first neighbours we met in NB (before our house was finished) and became friends very quickly. Lynette and I share a passion for our gardens and our cameras - and we knew we’d be good friends when they first mentioned porch cocktail hour to us!
They came to the city to visit in June and we’ve been scheduling and re-scheduling our get together ever since! It was so great to finally make it happen!
Thanks Henry & Lynette, we sure miss you on the street!
Come to think of it, we sure miss the street too!

25Nov -
Sunday, and it’s the CP Arts & Crafts Sale in the lobby today. I head down to check it out and find lots of treasures to be had. A number of booths selling jewelry, framed photos, cuddly canine coats for the coming winter freeze, homemade jams, baked goods and very cool handbags by Jane.
I purchase a few sweet treats for Carman and some extras to take with us to Zizians later today. We’re headed there for a Grey Cup Gathering and snacks with the usual crowd and our new Cape Breton friends, Peter & Sheila who have just joined the program.
When we arrive, the snacks are spread out on the island, the dining room table and a few are even lounging on the coffee table. Susan has outdone herself once again!
Because she couldn’t get a night pass, Jess is unable to join us so we Skype with her to share our fun. I take the laptop around to give her a tour and she says hello to one and all, then nearly faints when I show her the food! She is happy to be part of the evening and aptly shows her appreciation for the Skype visit...
Here is a photo of our group, Jim was gone to the ATM to get the money he owed Carman. They bet on the game, and well, the horse went thru the Royal York Hotel lobby, the Argos won the cup, and Jim lost money!
