More Medals on Day 5 - Yeah!

01Aug
Today was waiting on oxygen day...AND watching Canadian athletes win medals day!! Silver for the Men’s 8-man rowing and Bronze for Brent Hayden, 100M freestyle. So we’re at 1 silver + 5 bronze, 6 medals in the first 5 days of competition - Go Canada!
Our friend Wanda came by after work for a visit. It was an absolutely perfect evening to be enjoying a meal on a patio, so we headed to The Blake for a Congrats on the new job dinner with her.  Friday is Wanda's last day in TO, and next week she starts a new job in Waterloo...so no more commute from London to TO! We’re very excited for her, but feel the loss of knowing she could stop by for visits on a whim, on the days she stayed over in TO.
Now Wanda is the superior half of Ron & Wanda (sorry Ronnie), with whom we had a fantastic week of fun and golf (not always at the same time) in Florida, March 2011. Just before we hit our first shots, in our fist round of the week, we asked the starter to take a group picture for us.  With the proliferation of phone cameras and point and shoot varieties, most people aren’t familiar with using the viewfinder eyepiece when taking photos, they like the screen image, which I don’t use on my Nikon SLR, so... this became not only the photo of the day, but its the image I used on the cover of our vacation memory book:
Our starter did make another attempt for us, and got a full body shot, but it pales in comparison!

We remembered to have Wanda sign our guest book and I captured a pic of her and Carman for our Memories of TO book, him with his chunky accessories on:
and Carman took a pic of Wanda and me as well...

ha,
ha...
funny
guy!
