The good news today is...Johnny is here on Tuesday! We haven’t seen him since the beginning of June, a couple of weeks before his eldest daughter’s wedding in BC (a stunning location at the Black Rock Resort in Ucleulet) and now we’re anxious to see him in his new role as expectant Grandpa! First grandchild is due in October. It must be kismet, he wasn't in the door 5 minutes, when I received a text from his other daughter, Hayley...and a "Hi Dad" for him.
John readily agrees to the pleasure of being Carman’s Physio coach today, offering a new setting in which they can sling abuses at each other while having fun! I drop them off and head for MLG Loblaws to pick up some groceries, unsure of how much shrapnel will line the walls of the Treadmill Room when I return to pick them up. They are smiling though, and come threw the door at TGH armed (or should I say handed) with the requisite Starbucks cafe-mocha treat & even a chai for me. Carman is excited as his Baristo is back from wherever he has been for the last couple of week.s When he sees Carman in the line, he just waves a cup and waits for the nod, then gets busy getting Carman’s treat for him...that man can really wrap coffee shop personnel around his every need! The ladies at our neigbourhood Tim Horton’s in London, used to have his coffee and cardiac arrest sandwich ready by the time he got to the cash register...every workday morning - until I found out and he had to have breakfast at home! Ha, ha...like that worked.
John was able to stay for dinner and a lot of catching up before heading back to London, and his sweetie, Jane (miss you Janey). We’ll not see them for awhile, as they are headed to Cape Coral for a little work around the house and then some serious R&R - pool, links, bbq; links, pool, bbq you probably get the picture. Oh yes, we’re getting better...he signed the guest book!
We had a nice message from our niece, Rosemary, and her fiance, Rafa - on a vacation break from their teaching positions in Botswana. Next week they are heading to Makadikgadi, one of the largest salt pans in the world, and recently spent some time in Cape Town, where they did some cage diving with sharks, and watched a lion pride capture and feed on a giraffe.
Looking forward to more pics and details about their adventures....
Rosemary would like an iPad, and with the mail the way it can be these days, let alone postage to Botwana...this is the best we could do for now Roe!

HAHAHAHA! Just saw this post now - awesome!
