So far behind...

22-3Sep - Weekend

Well, it’s been a very busy week and as a result I’m incredibly behind in the blog department!  Give me a few minutes and I’ll bring you up to speed on what we’ve been up to, starting with Saturday, 22Sep. (Alex’ birthday, by the way). 

Angie, Carman & Me

We were very happy to have a great visit and dinner with our friend Angie, who was on her way home after a busy business trip in Asia. Her Mom lives in TO and since her flight brought her here, she took advantage of the situation to spend some time with Mom, share lunch with her eldest, Will, who is in the area at school and then, to visit us!

Thanks so much for treating us to dinner Angie, and especially for taking the time in your busy schedule (and delaying getting home) in order to spend the time with us...let’s hope we can coordinate another visit soon!

Sunday saw us heading north to the Thornhill area of Toronto. We enjoyed an afternoon and dinner with Barb, Randy, Mary & Lee (of our London International Dinner and wonderful friends group) at the home of Barb’s sister. While we had hoped to spend the afternoon outside, the cool temperature sent us inside where the boys migrated to the couches in the living room and we ladies remained in the kitchen. Once snacks were served all around, we settled in the family room for a good girl chat. We heard of the exploits involved in the move of our friends Linda & Terry (the 4th couple in our Int’l group) who recently sold their family home and squeezed (over 30 years of living in a house) into an apartment in London. Then shared “what the kids are up to” stories.

Barb and Mary had made a feast for us to share for dinner and then we had to exercise the sweet sorrow of good bye, ending another fun day together. A big thanks for making the trip from London, providing snacks & dinner and super thanks to Barb’s sister and brother-in-law for the use of their home while they were out of town!

Since we were heading to them, we took along the guest book (technically, they were visiting us in TO although not at our condo). The only mishap was leaving it on the table after notes had been added!  Barb is kindly mailing it back to us, so we’re using slips of paper for our guests in the meantime, and I’ll glue their note into the book once it comes back!

It seems the guest book is as big an issue in our lives as a lung transplant...we just can’t seem to get a grip on getting it signed and keeping in the right place!
