Hello friends, its been a busy few days, and I’ve not had time to capture all that has been going on in our lives, so let me bring you up to date. I’ll break this into a couple of posts so you don't get Hamilton overload and can catch up at your leisure :o)

Weigh-in reveals that Carman is down 1 lb, but this is not cause for concern at this point, we’re more concerned with the 5 lb increments and will discuss any changes we need to make with the dietician next week.

Today is the day for the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon at the Bruce Pit in Ottawa. Dj and Teddy are participating and have raised just over $800! The morning is cool and crisp and there is a huge crowd of puppies and their peeps participating! As a team that have raised over $500, Teddy & Dj have earned rights to park on site rather than be shuttled from down the road at a school property. They register, then meet up with a friend and her canine companion and strike out on the trail. just ahead of the masses. It’s such a fine morning and they’re having such a nice time, they decide to do the circuit again. This brings them up on the end of the crowd, and they realize how great it was to be front of the pack the first time around.
Of course, Teddy does me proud and finds a puddle to jump in along the way! Good thing he has a salon appointment the following morning!

| Heather (l) & Jess (r) check out Cumberland St. |
Here in TO, the city streets are busy with extra traffic and hotels are fully booked with the Toronto International Film Festival drawing stars and fans alike. Jess and I have talked about how we will participate in this...alas, she was in the emergency department on the eve of her favourite star’s premiere...obviously Bruce Willis’ staff will have a dressing down coming to them about this scheduling error! We weren’t able to attend Looper but will go to Yorkville, grabba java and see if we can snap some celebrity shots. We’re told they often shop in the area and figure Sunday afternoon is a good time to check it out.
Star gazing is an interesting sport, and apparently a few others have had the same idea. Yorkville is busy, lots of shoppers, browsers, java sippers, co- a-squat sitters and super shiny vehicles of the high priced or antique sort circling the block (and a few strumming Harleys to boot!).
We slowly stroll down Cumberland Street checking out the shops (some with fun names) and restaurant patios with a keen eye for “does that look like...?”.
At the Bay St. end of Cumberland, we line up (outside on the sidewalk) for our cuppa at the Starbucks, slowly making our way inside and others come out, cups of steaming multi-syllable-concoctions in hand and smiles of anticipation on their faces...yes we Canadians do like our coffee! Jess treats Heather and I to our choice and grabs a
Tall Blonde Hazelnut for herself. We exit thru the Bay St. door (no line up there) and cross the street to make our way up the other side of Cumberland and find a good spot to sit and enjoy our beverages.

We are stopped in our tracks as soon as we cross though...and gaze in the window of the small shoe store located there...how much are those pumps in the windows, we wonder? All royal blue, covered in sequins, platformed sole and hmmm...7 inches of heel? We must go in and see who dares to take a walk on the high side!

I take great pride in the fact that I was able to walk back and forth across the store...staying upright and hey! these shoes make me look slimmer!!!
Alas, in a store that stocks only one pair of any given size of the shoe and often only 2-3 pairs total, I lack the courage to ask the price, thank the lovely salesman (who says he will hold them for an hour so I can think about it) and we take our leave. My hat goes off to the women who can actually wear this type of shoe for a whole evening...my little Croc wedges felt pretty good underfoot, as we continued on down the street!
We may not have encountered any film industry celebrities, but we had a fun afternoon!

| Fountain at Yorkville Park |
We headed back to our place, where Jess & Heather got to meet my family (via Skype). I had arranged with my sister that we’d be in touch at suppertime, as they were all going to Mom’s to celebrate her birthday together. She placed the laptop on the lazy susan on the table and we literally did the rounds, chatting with everyone in turn (in fact we got dizzy from the spinning a couple of times!).
All that chat around the table, made us hungry so we hopped in the Tiquan and headed to Jack Astor’s on Front St. for dinner. We had an excellent meal and great service but were all tired from our eventful day. Once again, the Bluenosers were up to showing the Herring Choker a good time!
