Hallowe'en!

31Oct
Wed - Dj and I head to the market for some provisions and a bite of lunch at Buster’s Sea Cove while Dad does his Wednesday post-physio recovery sleep-in. We find a few treats at the Carousel Bakery, to bring home to him and some for Matt, at home in Ottawa, as well.

When we stop at Kozlick’s Mustard Emporium, the lady there is cooking up some white sweet potato as a test for the upcoming MMM Market Night, a fundraiser in support of FoodShare Toronto. This sounds intriguing, so we look for the big poster hanging in the market and scoop the information needed to find out more about it.

Yummy - Crab Legs!
Once we've feasted our eyes and bellies and gathered what provisions we need, we make the trek home to get some lunch for Dad.

Early in the evening, Dj gets Teddy suited up for his Hallowe’en walk and we head out to see what ghosts and goblins are afoot.
L'il Devil Dog

It is cold, wet and windy tonight, not great for the kiddies in costumes, although the adults in the neighbourhood are living it large down the block. The street is closed at Church and Wellesley and we can hear the haunting sounds of revelry as we take our walk around the big block.

Grumpy Old Man
When we get back, I receive a text from my sister-in-law, telling me that Carman’s brother has decided to suit up and see what tricks or treats he can get up to on their street.

Jolly Old Elf
She sends us a photo so we’ll understand what’s up. It turns out Alex has decided to go out as a jolly elf, while Carman has decided to stay in as a grumpy old man!

These brothers are certainly a pair to be reckoned with!
