Friday-09Nov
Our friends and neighbours from NB were in the area visiting family and we arranged to have them drop by for coffee before they head home. Nancy & Gil came around 10:30 this morning with a bag of goodies from my family (and about 20 lbs of mail!).
Thanks for the pickles Mom, beautiful box of tea from my sister Penny, more books, magazines, etc. that you sent for us! In future, please feel free to just go ahead and pay the bills - ha, ha.
We had a lovely visit with Gil & Nancy, got caught up on the neighbourhood news and then they headed east and we went west to TGH.

| Nancy, Gil, Carman & Me |
Carman is participating in a study on muscle fitness, comparing Pre-transplant levels to those post-surgery - at time of discharge, at 3 months and again at 6 months.
He did most of the testing yesterday then had an appt to finish today. he was a little cocky & competitive today - imagine! He still likes to test the limits when doing any kind of endurance exercise - I hardly blame him, but his sats dropped way to low today. As a result, we go back again on Tuesday to re-do what he did today (with the proper oxygen mask on).
From there we visited our transplanted friend’s Mom then went to see her sister at Eaton Centre to get Carman some kick-butt shoes for the PHYSIO squat squad. She works at a sports store there and found some shoes that will be perfect for him - super light weight and a colour that will wow the crowd!

| Sapna dressed for the wedding |
On Thursday night, Susan and I have a date for ladies’ night out at the St. Lawrence Market. It is the Mmmmarket Event - a tasting night of food & wine prepared by the market vendors, in support of Foodshare Toronto. Our admission ticket gets us a plate & fork, serviette and empty wine glass. We see the lines at the vendors near the front door of the market and decide to wander to the far south end and work our way back, thinking this way we’ll be sure to find a less crowded area to start in. We find the Trius wine bar & Mill Street beer bar, acquire a glass of wine, then peruse the stalls for some munchies. Beef sliders, chicken satays, mini subs, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, crab cakes, mussels, stuffed saganaki, perogies, pasta, Protuguese custard tarts, smoked salmon, coffee, strudel and that’s just skimming the top of what there was to be had (not that we ate all that). So many choices and generous portion sizes from everyone!
